Love Art? Visit The RED Art Exhibition To Celebrate Women’s Empowerment
If you’re a fan of modern digital art and a supporter of womens empowerment then this new exhibition opening at Radisson RED in Silicon Oasis – October 12th, should be on your must-see list.
The hotel, which opened in February last year, has a keen focus on local art. The walls are covered in bespoke designed wallpaper from locally based artists, including that of Maria Iqbal and female led Art Painting Lab. Two superwomen – Ji-Hye and Cathy Nunez – have already had the opportunity to showcase their art at Radisson RED in June, followed by a further month long exhibit in July. Then it was over to Shadab Khan, an eminent contemporary Indian artist to showcase her artworks.
Now the stage belongs to one of Home Club ME’s favourite digital artists, Laura, a U.K. artist based in Dubai who is the founder of Dainty Illustrations. Her love for the arts started from a young age in the North East of England but who stoked her passion for art during last years lock down and founded Dainty during the pandemic – a true COVID success story. Laura established a platform to not only do what she loves but to help and support others through the art of illustration.
Laura French says:
When visiting Radisson RED I made a decision to focus on my commitment to empowering women, to highlight a woman’s sense of self-worth, their ability to make their own choices and the right to impact change for themselves & others. When women are exposed to the proper resources and see artwork, design and positive influencers in their own image, they can achieve anything. These artworks showcase women’s empowerment, independence, confidence and strength + that when women stand together, that’s where the real magic happens. We are the future, and the future is female
Stuart Birkwood, Curator aka General Manager at Radisson Red Dubai Silicon Oasis, comments:
Women of all ages are challenging the odds and achieving greater heights so we here at Radisson RED want to recognize that. Art, Music and Fashion is at the core of our brand. Hence we want to celebrate some of the rock stars in these industries. Laura’s success story, coming thru the challenging year we’ve all had stronger and successfully is inspiring. As we’re both from Newcastle I’m of course particularly delighted to have Laura exhibiting with us here at RED.
The exhibition can be viewed free of charge on the ground floor of the art focused hotel, from 12th August 2021 for one month, and keep an eye out for our very own Founder, Rhiannon Downie-Hurst, who is featured in the exhibition.
